Fluid Bed Granulation Fluid bed spray agglomeration is also often in colloquial terms refered to as fluid bed granulation. Powders are fluidized and a binder solution or suspension is sprayed onto the fluidized particles, creating liquid bridge which form agglomerates from the powder. As soon as the desired size of the agglomerates is achieved, spraying binder is stopped and the liquid inside of granule is evaporated and exhausted by fan. The structures created by the liquid bridge are then maintained by solid binder. Whatever has been liquid inside the agglomerates is now void, as such permitting modified size and porosity of the agglomerates for their intended function, e.g. for compression into tablet or fast dissolving instant drink applications. The lack of kinetic energy in the agglomeration zone results in light structures with plenty of internal capillaries. The usual size range found on the market is approximately 0.2 to 2.5 mm.
Typical features of fluid granulation
Equipment Model: FL FLUID-BED GRANULATOR Fluid Bed Spraying Granulation Fluid bed spray granulation produces dense particles by layering solids from a suspension, solution or melt onto nuclei created as a spray-dried by-product of the atomized spray liquid or abrasion from larger particles or on starter nuclei inserted as a defined quantity. For this processing option the liquid only serves as a vehicle for the solid particles contained in the spray liquid. This process would be rather lengthy in a batch type fluid bed, unless process ramps are introduced:

Equipment Model: PGL-B SPRAYING DRYER GRANULATOR High Shear Granulation High shear agglomeration by means of bottom driven mixing blades in a closed container has been a popular processing option for the pharmaceutical industry, whereas the food, feed and chemical industries. The impact of the rotating impellers or blades form denser agglomerations than with the fluid bed process. Compared to the latter, particle size is usually wider with the mechanical impact often enabling a reduced quantity of the required binder, which is either poured onto the powder or sprayed by an air atomized nozzle. The latter allows a more uniform dosing of the binder liquid.
Typical product features
Equipment Model: GHL HIGH-SPEED MIXING GRANULATOR Rotating Extruding Granulation One pair of rotating grinding blade to grind form damp material into column-shape granule by stainless steel sieve cylinder whick is provided. The granule diameter is changed by client requirement(0.8 -2.5mm). The length :1-3 mm. Equipment Model: XL ROTATING GRANULATOR
Dry Granulating Process(Roller Compactor) By using the crystallization water in the materials, the equipment can directly make the powder materials into the granule. It is not necessary to use the water, alcohol and other wet agent. There is no need of twice heating and drying. Equipment Model: GK DRY GRANULATOR |
